Moving...Again

And....here we go again!

After less than 8 months living in Idaho, Scott and I are on the road again!

Due to the closure of the company I worked for, we made the decision to sell our house in the beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho.  When one door closes, the other one opens - we can't wait to see what our next door and adventure will be!

When the house was purchased, we fully intended to nearly gut it and do an extensive remodel including removal of walls and altering the layout.  Because of time and money constraints, when I lost my job, we did a remodel that kept the same layout, but updated all the necessary components.

Here are a few AFTER pictures - before pictures to come!

And... We have a new house!

That's right! Scott and I closed on October 2nd on a house in Sandpoint, ID! The movers dropped our stuff off on Friday and since then it has been a whirlwind. We are not even close to being unpacked and settled. And in the back of my mind with each box we unpack, I know it is something we are going to have to deal with when we remodel.

Yet again, we purchased an out dated fixer upper! The difference this time is we picked a fixer upper on a gorgeous 8 acres!

Meet our new home!

We are so in love and can't wait to see where this Idaho adventure takes us!

Goodbye Denver!

As of September 17th, we are officially no longer Denver homeowners.

In a little under 2 years, the house went through a major transformation. My husband is pretty dang amazing!

Big Changes!

So much has happened that I don't even know where to start!

The first big news that Scott and I have is that we are MOVING!  Yes, that is right!  I quit my job and we are taking an adventure to Idaho!  We are so excited and couldn't be more happy with our decision.

New home :-)
Since we are moving, that means we are selling our house.  Man oh man have we been able to accomplish so many things now that I'm not working.  Scott's dad also came down to help us prep the house as well.  Our goal is to have it on the market on August 8th so we can start our next adventure.

The biggest change we made so far is to install granite into the kitchen.  It was the one project our realtor said we had to do (because of the neighborhood we live in) so we ordered some!

We also did all sorts of little projects including refresh painting doors, hinges, and our vanity.  We also installed 2 new light fixtures and 2 fans to replace our brass fixtures.

One of my favorite easy projects was painting our door.  We had a dark purple door and with the ORB hardware, it just didn't look good.  So we painted it red!  It is so cheery and fun and I think will be a great welcome to any potential buyers.

We are on our last big project to make our 8/8 listing date deadline.  Scott and his dad are working on tiling our kitchen.  We replaced all the floors on the main level with new wood floors, but had held off on this room so we could pick between tile or slate.  Well, since we are moving, we are going with generic and buyer friendly, so we picked tile.

What the tile will hypothetically look like...

Hopefully the house sells after 1 day on the market!

Spring with the Wilcox's

Spring in Colorado always means it's time to get back outside.  And boy have we ever! It's so nice being able to sit outside, eat outside, lounge with the dogs outside, etc.

And the boys have been taking advantage of the warmer weather as well!

I think we are "that family" on the block.  You know, the one where everyone talks about behind their hands?  Yep.  It's GOT to be us because the boys have taken up to fishing...on the golf course...with the golfers.

They hike themselves out there, get in to the water in their chest wadders, and proceed to catch and release fish almost every night. They're silly!  I'm just waiting for the day when I get some sort of complaint!

On other news, I threw a bridal shower with the other bridesmaid for my friend that is getting married in Seattle this summer.  It was a blast! I flew in for the weekend and we frantically got everyhting ready.  The party came out absolutely wonderfully thanks to the help of all the girls and the brides mom!

The party was shoe themed due to the brides love of shoes!  Here are a few pictures!

Shoe topped cupcakes.  Pink champagne and vanilla/chocolate flavors!

The other bridesmaids (minus me!) I was lucky enough to be camera girl!

The gift from the bridesmaid group :-)
Now that it's spring, it's probably time to start remodeling the house again!
